Huge Crowds Enjoy Music From The Lone Star State
The Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra plays a concert in Prague's National House.
In June, the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, under the baton of Richard Giangiulio, embarked on a 13-day concert tour of the Czech Republic, Austria, and Germany. The ensemble performed 6 concerts for enthusiastic and enthralled crowds who were eager to hear these musicians. Smetana's Litomysl Festival of the Czech Republic is filled with the sounds of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra.One highlight of the tour was the youth orchestra's performance at the Smetana's Litomysl Festival at Smetana's birthplace in the Czech Republic.
The youth orchestra had the opportunity to collaborate with two premiere German conservatories and share their music and culture.
Musicians held four concerts in Munich, Dresden, Weimar and Bad Mergentheim (Germany) and two concerts in Prague and Litomysl (Czech Republic). Concerts were attended by hundreds of people, and great applause led them through four encores in one particular performance.
