Audiences And Choristers Enjoy Concerts, Collaborations, And Sites In The United Kingdom And Ireland

The University of Kentucky Women's Choir performs at the Steam Engine Museum in England.

The University of Kentucky Women's Choir toured the United Kingdom and Ireland this past June, where they sang in formal solo and collaborative concerts. One particularly interesting performance was a joint concert with a local choir at England's Steam Engine Museum. Under the direction of Dr. Lori Hetzel, the choir performed five concerts during the span of their 10-day concert tour.
Voices of the University of Kentucky Women's Choir fill the spacious Ely Cathedral in Cambridgeshire, England.

In addition to having concerts in famous and gorgeous venues, which included Canterbury Cathedral, Ely Cathedral, Bath Abbey, and Dublin's St. Patrick's Cathedral, the University of Kentucky Women's Choir also enjoyed seeing the most wonderful sites! Stops included tours of Bath and Cambridge, Big Ben, a river cruise on the Thames, Buckingham Palace, and even Westminster Abbey.

"Another wonderful trip from Classical Movements - our third international tour! Concert venues were fabulous and well-attended with "big name" cathedrals and enthusiastic audiences. The hotels were very accommodating for large groups. Tour Guides were very knowledgeable, flexible, funny and worked well with collegiate age singers. The [University of Kentucky] Women are already asking where we are going on the next tour!!"
—Dr. Lori Hetzel, Director, University of Kentucky Women's Choir
