The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus Tours Home and Abroad
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus Performs with the Berlin Philharmonic and at Carnegie Hall

It was an April evening at Carnegie Hall. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus was presented in concert as part of its Great American Orchestras II Series. Music Director Robert Spano led the mass ensemble in a program comprised entirely of works themed upon mysticism, mythology and lore - Sibelius' Tapiola, the complete ballet score of Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé and the New York premiere of American composer Christopher Theofanidis' The Here and Now. The New York Times said, "in waves of climactic crescendos...Mr. Spano drew a swelling, variegated sound that packed a visceral punch." Continued...
